If You’re Wondering

November 3, 2010

If you’re wondering what one learns about in International Relations School, I think it’s how to look at what’s going on right now, across the world. Today, in my governance of developing countries class, we discussed what makes successful public initiatives, and how the state can fail or succeed in distributing public services. We talk about disconnects, and the difficulties of reconciling who has ownership and who is a stakeholder in transactions. And then Tom Friedman writes a piece like today’s column.

There’s also a lot of talk about things like democratization and the theories of international relations. Hillary Clinton talks about it here.
