Um Laptop

March 4, 2010

I just looked at my computer in the bright daylight of Paulo and Edite’s TV room and realized that my once white laptop is now pretty dirty.  This last jaunt of traveling, where it survived being carted around to eight different hotels, houses, bungalows, ant infestations, and ridiculously slow internet speeds in the middle of nowhere Brazil have worn out my little white buddy quite a lot.  My computer, already creaky at the hinge, is a little tuckered out.  It’s tired of being shoved into bags and carted around, asked to remember different wireless passwords.  It’s put in its time, and I hope she manages to stick around a little bit longer–for the rest of this trip, maybe for the completion of a draft of the book, maybe even for some of grad school.  We’ll see.
