Mad Men and/or Women

August 13, 2009

Emma Pearse, a contributing writer at New York magazine wrote this amazing article for The Daily Beast about how the women of Mad Men inspired her to take a different approach to being Adam Moss’s assistant. She first started out there while I was an intern or shortly there after, (I got her the interview– she was friends with a friend from Vietnam).  I think it’s incredibly well written (I’m trying to think of it as motivating rather than jealousy-evoking), and I totally identify with the chin-up attitude to assistanting (I had plenty of my own Devil Wears Prada moments).

  1. Hi

    Two things

    1) I’d like your permission to (re)print your article on Mad Men for our website

    2) I was hoping we could use your ‘scribing’ talent for our website.

The best shows youre not watching . com

Mad Men is one of our featured shows. We’re hoping to round up a few people who can occasionally contribute perspective (via an article/blog) on the shows – maybe a recent episode, future direction, plot shortcomings etc

    What’s in it for you?

Primarily a larger audience back channeled to your blog. We don’t pay but the site has a lot of promise and we’re pretty excited about getting it off the ground. Let me know what you think.
